Advises of Moulana  Saeed Ahmed Khan (rah) for being steadfast in the Efforts of Tabligh.

1) Don't discuss politics.
2) Don't discuss the Mazaheb differences.
3) Don’t speak about the diseases of Ummah.
4) Don't fight one another.

(Explanations below are mere a  discussion in light of knowledge we all have in general).

1) Don't discuss politics.
Da'wa targets the hearts and not the throne. The Fikr and thoughts of a Da'ee are far above the littleness of a chair given for a while.  They target whats eternal and what is real. They are the king of the hearts and not of the minds.

2) Don't discuss the Mazaheb differences.
When healthy differences as that  of Mazhab should not be discussed, how can we discuss a problematic difference?  It's up to the scholar (Alim) or a Madrassa to discuss issues and disputes.  A Da'ee taking it over is not allowed and it should not be his fikr to do so. Few of our brothers who nowadays forward and discuss Fatwas & differences among scholars or say ill of an Aalim is a new thing in Tabligh.

مَّا سَمِعۡنَا بِہَـٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآٮِٕنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old.

Just as a Muazzin closes his ears before giving Azaan, a Daee should close his ears from listening to this and that and his focus should be. ….
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ
Pronounce the greatness of Your Rabb (74:3)

3) Never speak about the diseases of Ummah.
Just as a loving mother never speaks the shortcoming of her child before everyone. A Da'ee who loves Ummah cannot speak ill of the nation before everyone. He strives to re-build the Ummah to its very nature,  positively rather than speak negatively.

4) Don't fight one another.

When it comes to Da'wa, there is only brotherhood and there is no enmity towards anyone.  All the Prophets were sent as BROTHERS to their community. This is mentioned throughout Quran whenever their Da'wah is mentioned.  Few Ayaaths  are below.

... إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ نُوحٌ
 When their BROTHER Nûh (Noah) said to them:.... (26:106)

...إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ
When their BROTHER Hûd said to them: .... (26:124)
..... إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ صَـٰلِحٌ
When their BROTHER Sâlih said to them:... (26:142)
.... إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ لُوطٌ
When their BROTHER Lut (Lot) said to them: ... (26:161)


Hence a Da'ee is a BROTHER who speaks to his BROTHERS in the tone of a BROTHER in the BROTHERHOOD of humanity. These rules of Da'wa are timeless and applies for all, even if the Da'wa is being given to an arrogant Firaoun.

فَقُولَا لَهُ ۥ قَوۡلاً۬ لَّيِّنً۬ا
So speak to him in soft words.  (20:44)

May Allah bestow upon us the Taufeeq for Amal and give us the Akhlaq of Da'wah. Aameen

NIFAQ-HYPOCRISY

The word Munafiq comes from the word NAFAQ  نفق meaning a hole or a tunnel that has two faces. One should have noticed outside of each tunnel in Makkah Al Mukarrama written in big letters  NAFAQ so and so.  Munafiq is someone like the tunnel, with a double face. Someone with double intentions.  They have a face with the believers and another face with non-believers. They are not loyal to Islam as one may think so.  They believed, then they rejected Faith or turned disloyal to Islam for few worldly benefits. They are like a smartphone in flight mode. Everything looks the same, except they have no connectivity. Their connectivity with Allah is lost, someone whose hearts are sealed off.

Being disloyal

Think of a married couple who love one another. There is a loyalty and there is a sincerity in their love.  Let's suppose sometime later the husband or wife turned disloyal.  Then signs of disloyalty start to get exposed through their actions.   Now he or she will be hiding something in their hearts and lie in their talks, will start breaking their promises and they betray their previous trusts. Once either of the couple figures out the characteristic of betrayal, the most loved person turns out to be the most hated. Their story ends in nothing but Talaq.

The same applies to any mutual relations. Either be a company or a nation. No one likes a hypocrite who betrays. In any country, the most severe capital punishment is given to the one who turns disloyal. Being a spy or traitor ends in a death sentence. So are the Munafiqoon. They are disloyal to Islam and face more dangers to Islam and Muslims and Allah promises them most severe punishment.

Beloved Prophet (s.a.w) says in a Hadith.

Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (RA) says that Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Four traits whoever possesses them is a hypocrite and whoever possesses some of them has an element of hypocrisy until he leaves it: the one who when he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks his promise, when he disputes he transgresses and when he makes an agreement he violates it.” (Muslim and Bukhari)

Nifaq is a disease.

Nifaq is a disease of the heart and Allah Azzawajal warns believers about this disease as a deadly disease.

فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ۬ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضً۬ا‌ۖ

In their hearts is a disease, and Allah has increased their disease.

Take the example of a deadly virus as Nipah, Ebola etc. Which are deadly virus about which very severe warnings are given by WHO.  The symptoms of Nipah were published and announced to everyone.

Like fever and headache,

Muscle aches

a sore throat,

vomiting,

dizziness

Due to the warnings given, the healthy ones took cautious of their health. The precautions and warnings provided by the authorities were strictly followed. 

This is the same case with Nifaq. It is a deadly disease which has major symptoms and minor symptoms.  Just as it’s only a healthy body that is afraid of a deadly virus, only a believer is afraid of Nifaq.  Being afraid of Nifaq is a sign that Eemaan exists.  As Hasan al Basri (rah) said.

مَا خَافَهُ إِلا مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلا أَمِنَهُ إِلا مُنَافِقٌ.

No One is worried about it (Nifaq) except a believer. And no one is safe of it except a Munafiq.

In the case of the virus, even those who got a normal fever and vomiting started to worry if that was Nipah as they don’t want to be the victim of it and they don’t want to take the risk. They were very cautious. Likewise we will see the Most Afraid of Nifaq were those who had the most Eemaan (Most healthy). Sayyiduna Abubakar (r.a) feared himself of Nifaq. Hazrath Umar (r.a) would ask Huzaifa (r.a) if he was in the list of Munafiqoon given to him by Rasulullah (s.a.w). Even small symptoms which they thought seemed like of the Nifaq, they were worried. As in the story of Handhala (r.a)

One of the Tabiyeen, Ibn Abi Mulaykah (rah) said: I met thirty of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), all of whom feared being hypocrites, and none of them ever said that he had faith equivalent to that of Jibreel and Mikaa’eel (peace be upon them).

Those confirmed with Nipah virus were requested to treat differently even their dead body was buried from a distance. Their Janaza was not prayed inside a Masjid.  The clear list of Munafiqoon was reported to Rasulullah (s.a.w) through Wahy and Allah Azzawajal warned not to Perform for them Janaza prayer nor stand their grave.

 وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنۡہُم مَّاتَ أَبَدً۬ا وَلَا تَقُمۡ عَلَىٰ قَبۡرِهِ

 And never (O Muhammad SAW) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave.

Ulama has counted numerous signs based on Quran and Hadith.  But there is none to declare anyone as Munafiq now. One can only understand them through their signs. The one who fears Nifaq in him has the quality of a believer. In fact, this is one of his greatest concern.  The one who judges others of Nifaq should fear his own Eemaan. Claiming of one having Eemaan itself was the quality of Munafiq. Believers don’t claim, rather they fear.

وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا

And when they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe,

  

Forgiveness is for all

Allah Azzawajal is Merciful. With all the severe punishments mentioned for Munafiq in this life and hereafter. The Doors of Tawba is open for all.

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ فِى ٱلدَّرۡكِ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُمۡ نَصِيرًا (١٤٥) إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ وَأَصۡلَحُواْ وَٱعۡتَصَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَأَخۡلَصُواْ دِينَهُمۡ لِلَّهِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ‌ۖ وَسَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمً۬ا (١٤٦) مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِڪُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡ‌ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاڪِرًا عَلِيمً۬ا

Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them.[] (145) Except those who repent (from hypocrisy), do righteous good deeds, hold fast to Allâh, and purify their religion for Allâh (by worshipping none but Allâh, and do good for Allâh’s sake only, not to show off), then they will be with the believers. And Allâh will grant the believers a great reward. (146) Why should Allâh punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And Allâh is Ever All¬Appreciative (of good), All¬Knowing.  (Surah Al-Nisa: Ayah No, 145, 146,147)

SIX POINTS OF THE MUNAFIQOON.

The word Munafiq comes the same word as NAFAQ meaning a Tunnel
which has a double face.  As in the above PIC,

The six points of Tabligh are basically six great qualities of a believer which a Muslim must strive to build in his life.  This is a Muzakara about the same six points but in contrary to those of the believers which is of the Munafiqoon (hypocrites). This compilation is for our own understanding, to ponder and to realize what qualities we are really building in life. A scale to measure MYSELF and never to judge anyone else.  

                                                           

Point No.1  Yaqeen of Kalima.

a)    Sifat of Munafiqoon in La ilaha illa Allah

                 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ

And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: “We believe in Allâh and the Last Day” while in fact they believe not. (Surah Albaqara:Ayah No. 8)

a)    Sifat of Munafiqoon in Muhammad AlRasulullah ﷺ

إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ قَالُواْ نَشۡہَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ ۥ وَٱللَّهُ يَشۡہَدُ إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ

When the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad SAW), they say: “We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allâh.” Allâh knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allâh bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. (Surah Al-Muafiqoon: Ayah No. 1)

Point No.2 : Sifat of Salaah.

       Sifat of  Salah (prayer) in Munafiqoon.

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يُخَـٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَـٰدِعُهُمۡ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً۬ 

 Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allâh, but it is He Who deceives them.  And when they stand up for As-Salât (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allâh but little. (Surah An-Nisa: Ayah No.142)

Point No.3 Ilm & Zikr

a)   Sifat of ilm in  Munafiqoon.

 وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَسۡتَمِعُ إِلَيۡكَ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا خَرَجُواْ مِنۡ عِندِكَ قَالُواْ لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ مَاذَا قَالَ ءَانِفًا‌ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِہِمۡ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ 

Among them there are ones who (pretend to) give ear to you, until when they go out from your presence, they say to those who have been given knowledge, “What did he say just now?” Those are the ones on whose hearts Allah has put a seal, and they have followed their desires. (Surah Muhammad: Ayah No.16)

b)  Sifat of Zikr in Munafiqoon

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يُخَـٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَـٰدِعُهُمۡ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً۬ 

Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allâh, but it is He Who deceives them.  And when they stand up for As-Salât (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allâh but little. (Surah An-Nisa: Ayah No.142)

Point No.4 : Ikramul Muslimeen.

 Sifat of Munafiqeen with Honouring Muslims.

هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُواْ عَلَىٰ مَنۡ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّواْ‌ۗ وَلِلَّهِ خَزَآٮِٕنُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ (٧)

 يَقُولُونَ لَٮِٕن رَّجَعۡنَآ إِلَى ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ لَيُخۡرِجَنَّ ٱلۡأَعَزُّ مِنۡہَا ٱلۡأَذَلَّ‌ۚ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ 

They are the ones who say: “Spend not on those who are with Allâh’s Messenger, until they desert him.” And to Allâh belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites comprehend not. (7) 

They (hyprocrites) say: “If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable (‘Abdûllah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hyprocrites at Al¬Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allâh’s Messenger SAW).” But honour, power and glory belong to Allâh, and to His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not. (8) (Surah Al-Munafiqoon: Ayah No.7&8)

Point No.5 : Ikhlas in  Niyyah.

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يُخَـٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَـٰدِعُهُمۡ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً۬ 

 Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allâh, but it is He Who deceives them.  And when they stand up for As-Salât (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allâh but little. (Surah An-Nisa: Ayah No.142)

 Point No. 6: Da’wath ila Allah.

a)   Sifat of Munafiqoon in Da’wa.

ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتُ بَعۡضُهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡضٍ۬‌ۚ يَأۡمُرُونَ بِٱلۡمُنڪَرِ وَيَنۡہَوۡنَ عَنِ ٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَيَقۡبِضُونَ أَيۡدِيَہُمۡ‌ۚ نَسُواْ ٱللَّهَ فَنَسِيَہُمۡ‌ۗ إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ

The hypocrites, both men and women, proceed one from another. They enjoin the wrong, and they forbid the right, and they withhold their hands (from spending for the cause of Allah). They forget Allah, so He hath forgotten them. Lo! The hypocrites, they are the transgressors. (Surah Al-Tawba: Ayah No. 67)

b)   Sifat of Munafiqoon for Khurooj in the Path of Allah.

فَرِحَ ٱلۡمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقۡعَدِهِمۡ خِلَـٰفَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوٓاْ أَن يُجَـٰهِدُواْ بِأَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِہِمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالُواْ لَا تَنفِرُواْ فِى ٱلۡحَرِّ‌ۗ قُلۡ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّ۬ا‌ۚ لَّوۡ كَانُواْ يَفۡقَهُونَ

Those who were left behind were happy with their sitting back to the displeasure of the Messenger of Allah, and they disliked striving in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives, and they said, “Do not march in this hot weather.” Say, “The fire of Jahannam is much more intense in heat,” only if they could understand. (Surah Al-Tawba: Ayah No.81)

 لَوۡ كَانَ عَرَضً۬ا قَرِيبً۬ا وَسَفَرً۬ا قَاصِدً۬ا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَـٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتۡ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُ‌ۚ وَسَيَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَوِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡنَا لَخَرَجۡنَا مَعَكُمۡ يُہۡلِكُونَ أَنفُسَہُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّہُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ (٤٢)

 Had it been a gain at hand or an average journey, they would have certainly followed you, but the distance seemed too far to them. They will swear by Allah: “We would have certainly set out with you, if we were able to.” They are putting themselves to ruin. ¹⁶ Allah knows that they are liars. (Surah Al-Tawba: Ayah No.42)

وَإِذۡ قَالَت طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ يَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَٱرۡجِعُواْ‌ۚ وَيَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُ فَرِيقٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوۡرَةٌ۬ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوۡرَةٍ‌ۖ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارً۬ا

And when a group of them said, “O people of Yathrib (Madinah), there is no place for you to stay; so go back.” ⁵ And a group of them was seeking permission (to leave) from the prophet, saying, “In fact our homes are vulnerable,” while they were not vulnerable; they wanted nothing but to escape. (Surah Al-Ahzab: Ayah No.13)
